Benefit of Probiotic Skincare
Mostly we heard the word probiotic often used in food and supplement world, they are good for keeping our digestive systems in line and this remind me of yakult (my kids love it so much). Nowadays probiotic has become famous and well known in skincare products but how well are we familiar with probiotics benefits when used topically?
What is Probiotic in Skincare?
Probiotics are live bacteria (good/ friendly bacteria) also known as micro-organisms that are harmless or even beneficial to their host, in this case is our skin, the largest organ of our body.

My Experience /
Before this I have tried other toning pads from different brands but by far Neogen Dermalogy toning pads are the best. Why? First, because of the patented with hypoallergenic cotton gauze pads which are quite thick but still soft and have dual sides (embossed side and smooth side). The embossed side gently exfoliate dead skin cells, excess sebum, and impurities. In contrast, the other smooth side of cotton pad is used to softly wipe away exfoliated skin and even out texture while delivering skin to benefits the nutrients of ingredients in the process. Secondly, is the skincare formulation as overall, which are proven with positive feedbacks.
This probiotics toning pads formulation consists of three kinds of probiotics which are Lactobacillus Fermentation Filtrate (5%), Bifibricated Ferment Lysate (4,9ppm) and Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment along with hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides to protect skin barrier. Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides also known as postbiotic compatible ingredients that make a great complement for what probiotics can do for skin [3].
This probiotics also derived from the process of fermenting or dissolving, not a live cell of Lactic acid bacteria which is recommendation by Neogen for the strongest of probiotics, also known as SUPERPROBIOTIC TM
HOW I USE IT
With damp clean face, I gently sweeped the embossed side over my skin’s face first then neck area (avoid eye areas) and there’s a bunch of dirt sticked to the cotton pad. Now turn the other side which is the smooth side and gently sweep away all the exfoliated skin and lightly tap to absorb the remaining essence. And voila! Clean!
This probiotics toning pads not only exfoliate and fully eliminate makeup residues and impurities, but also boosts hydration and helps my rough dry skin texture feels more smoother than before. Besides that, it helps to optimize and maintain skin pH level to slightly be more acidic (pH5.5~pH6.5) and my skin does not show any bad reaction or irritate towards this toning pads.
Since this is an exfoliating toning pads, I would preferred to use it during night routine. I will make sure to apply enough sunscreen when use this toning pads during morning or day routine.
And there’s a time when I’m a bit lazy but still need extra care of my skin, I’ll definitely grab this Probiotics Relief toning pads to improve my overall skin health and protects against environmental aggressors.

My Experience /
I love misting and it’s like an essential in skincare routine especially when my skin feeling dry or irritate during hot weather. It help to boost my dull skin complexion by providing the hydration level my skin need. It’s like replenishes any moisture that I might have lost throughout the day. When this Probiotics-fused mist was included in Try Me Review Me event, I was so happy and excited to try it.
At first, this mist is hardly to spritz out the products but after a couple of tries, it spritz very fine mist leaves gentle experience when using it and easily spray evenly on my entire face and neck too. My skin immediately feels refreshed, nourished and moist. To be honest, this is my first dewiest mist that i have ever tried since it contains oil layer in it. The oil ingredients are from Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Walnut Seed Oil, Olive Fruit Oil, and Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil which act as emollient that make your skin soft, smooth and lovely.
This mist also contains three probiotics which are Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate(71ppm), Bifida Ferment Lysate(7ppb), and Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment(2ppb). Meanwhile, there are two prebiotics source are from Xylitol and Gluconolactone. For postbiotic compatible ingredients are from Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides. These mix of “biotic” ingredients (pre-, pro-, and post-) provide a well-rounded approach to stabilizing and maintaining skin’s healthy microbiome. So this mist is actually do great in keeping my skin microbes in balance. No wonder every time misting my face, my skin looks radiant and glowing.
I never thought that this mist contain exfoliation ingredients but it does. Lactic Acid and Gluconolactone are listed in the middle of ingredients list. Lactic acid is an AHA which has amazing skin hydrating properties besides lifts off dead skin cells. Meanwhile Gluconolactone is a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) which is more gentler than AHA and BHA, and can be used even if your skin is very sensitive, rosacea prone or if you are post cosmetic procedure. It’s a great moisturizer and even helps to repair impaired skin barrier. Therefore, it’s advise to apply sunscreen if apply this during morning or day time skincare routine.
This probiotic-infused mist is alcohol free.
HOW I USE IT
I’m kind of like this face mist. It immediately soothes and moisten my tight feeling skin after cleansing. I love using this in my morning and mid-day skincare routine. Since it has this dewiest finished, I would recommend to apply this before makeup as a primer but not after. It gives smooth application when apply foundation and the makeup will stays a bit longer and of course gives that glowing makeup look. Just make sure to gently tap skin until fully absorbs and sink in to skin. It does not leave any stickiness or tackiness feeling on skin but still leave a slightly greasy feeling on skin. So don’t spritz way too much.
However if your skin is prone to be oilier, you probably might want to skip this product because it might be a little too heavy for you.

My Experience /
I’m a minimalist person so my skincare routine would be as simple as possible. But when my skin is in the state of chaos, I will still do 7 steps skincare routine or even doing self home spa to take good care of my skin too. It’s just not always. I’m a busy business mommy huhu..
This is my second product of emulsion and to be honest my dry skin need this emulsion actually. This Probiotics Youth Repair Emulsion has a bit of cooling sensation when apply on skin probably due to Allantoin ingredient which is a super common soothing ingredient. Besides, it also a skin-softening and protecting and can promote wound healing. It also contain Centella Asiatica Extract which has nice moisturizing properties.
This Probiotic-emulsion also contains three probiotics which are Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate (71ppm), Bifida Ferment Lysate (7ppb), and treptococcus Thermophilus Ferment (2ppb). Meanwhile, there is prebiotic source from Xylitol and for postbiotic compatible ingredients are from Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides. HOW I USE IT
It is recommend to be use during both in morning and night skincare routine but I would preferred using this probiotic-emulsion more on night routine, right after double cleansing and toning my skin with Probiotics Relief Toning Pads. With two pumps, this emulsion melts right away as I warmed it on my palms and gently tap all over my whole face and neck until it’s fully absorbs. It sinks in pretty well and leaves my skin super soft and smooth. It really provide deep hydration and moisture without feeling any stickiness.

My Experience /
Do I need serum? Heck yesss !! My acne scars really killing me, and fine lines tooo. Therefore, it’s the serum job to tackle most of our skin concerns because they are designed to deliver high concentrations of specific active ingredients to the skin. The active ingredients can penetrate more deeper on our skin and treat the targeted area.
This probiotic Double Action serum has a skin-friendly pH (= 5.5-6.5) and when applied on skin, it has this cooling sensation feeling. Both serums are formulated without artificial fragrance, colors, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil and silicone. And alcohol-free.
It glides easily smooth on my skin without leaving any sticky or tacky feeling. It absorbs fast and my skin feel so smooth and hydrated. After 2 weeks of used, I haven’t noticed any big improvement on my acne scars yet but my skin complexion looks more healthy and nourished.
HOW I USE IT
With one pump from both halves of the product, I lightly patting movement on my entire face and neck. It absorbs well and fast without leaving any sticky or tacky feeling on my skin. My skin feels so soft, smooth and looks more nourished.

How To Use /

My Experience /
I would really love if they included this cream with a scoop or mini spatula just like their toning pads. As for me, this relief cream is actually a good option for early age around 25-35 years old in preventing premature skin aging. I personally love this cream. Although it has a mild concentrated yogurts-like texture, although it’s not fast absorbent but it still sinks in really well and glides smoothly on my skin. It does not leave my skin feeling tacky or sticky at all.
This relief cream contains probiotic ingredients which are Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate(14.3%), Bifida Ferment Lysate(14ppm), and Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment(4ppm) that help build a stronger skin barrier and lock in all the benefits. Niacinamide is listed on top 10 list ingredients where this superstar ingredient also help to boost collagen production as well as the production of these three important proteins . It also known to be great at skin-lightening, and studies show that 2-5% Niacinamide used daily for 8 weeks results in significant lightening of hyperpigmentation. Since I only used it for only two weeks so there’s not much improvement on my acne scars or skin tone yet.
But my skin does looks more nourished and slightly minimal plump. The Nourishing ingredients like Royal Jelly, Jojoba Oil, Sunflower seed oil and Shea Butter help deliver hydration effectively to the skin for a smoother, more supple appearance.
For first application, I noticed my skin looks more hydrated, moist and silky smooth matte finished. The hydration and moisture are due to numbers of emollient and humectant. It also contains Dimethicone on top list ingredients which it gaves that instant silky smooth finished on my skin. There’s a calming and soothing sensation when applied probably due to Allantoin, Panthenol, Beta-Glucan, Copper Tripeptide-1. It contains 10 types of peptides which help encourage collagen and elastin production on skin.
HOW I USE IT
I used this as recommended to pairing it with the Neogen Probiotics Double Action Serum in my skincare routine for maximum results. I love using this cream during morning and mid-day routine because the texture is more lightweight than Neogen Probiotics Youth Repair Cream. Although my skin is prone to dehydrated/dry skin and with hot and humid weather, I would still prefer lightweight moisturizer than heavy cream.
So far, my skin does not gave any bad reaction towards this relief cream. I only this cream together with their Probiotics set and have not mixed with others product so I’m not sure how it would react on my skin.

My Experience /
The formulation of Probiotics Youth Repair Cream is different from Probiotics Relief Cream where the first ingredient is Ceramide NP rather than water. Therefore, this cream has a quite viscous consistency when apply to skin. If you have very dry skin, you would not feel heavy, but with oily or combination skin type would probably find this cream a bit heavy.
Just like its name, this cream focus more on repairing and strengthen skin barrier and retain water content. Ceramide have been used to treat skin conditions that are a result of disrupted barrier function, such as atopic dermatitis, irritant/allergic contact dermatitis, and aged skin, and they might be used against skin cancer as well [8].
It glides smoothly onto skin while delivering deep nourishment and moisture without leaving any sticky feeling. It absorbs quite well if apply with dapping method. If apply directly onto skin, it takes some time to absorbs.
So far there’s no bad reaction on my skin. This is probably due to antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that help breakout heal fast and has soothing properties from Propolis extracts. Propolis also helps to reduce redness and inflammation and make your skin glow. While Royal Jelly extract is packed with antioxidant and fight against free radical damage.
HOW I USE IT:
Most of our skin’s renewal process occurs overnight, which makes it the perfect time to apply this cream with healing ingredients during night routine. When wake up, my skin feels super moisturized and look more glowing.
I paired this cream with Probiotics Relief toning pads, together with Probiotics Youth Repair Emulsion and Probiotics Double Action Serum. I really love and enjoyed using this cream, and the smells is quite strong for some people. So far, this berries scents don’t bother me. After 3 weeks, I noticed my skin tone become more even and skin looks more healthier glowing complexion. I need to finish this cream to see improvement on fine lines and wrinkles.

My Experience /
To be honest, I’m not a fan of chemical sunscreen. But this Probiotics Relief Sun Essence is something that I really wanted to try since it infused with probiotics which help overall skin health and conditions. Besides it has been proven to be none irritating with skin irritation index of 0.00, so it is safe to be used even with very sensitive skin or other skin issues such as redness.
The texture is amazing, it goes light and smooth on skin without leaving any sticky or greasy feeling. But for oilier skin type, you might find this sun essence a bit greasy.
It melts away just like essence and sink into skin very well without leaving any white cast. It gives dewy finished, and soothing sensation when applied. After 4 hours, my skin looks glossier which is fine for me.
It contains Aquaxyl, milk protein extract and three types of hyaluronic acids which provide moisturizing and refine skin texture. Although my skin is prone to dry/dehydrated, this sun essence really does its job in hydrating & moisturizing skin. I personally skip using moisturizing during mid-day routine after prayer/solat.
It also contain Niacinamide which is well known and a stand out ingredients besides retinol and vitamin C. Niacinamide help visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and strengthen a weakened surface [9]. It can be used even with sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.
If you are not a fan of fragrances in skincare, this scent might probably bother you. It has this bubble-gum like yogurt smells which I’m ok with it because it will gradually fade away after application. My skin actually loves this chemical probiotic sun essence. This is one of my favourite chemical sun essence so far

My Experience /
I have tried a heap of different variation of sheet masks over the past few years since I started K-beauty in my skincare routine. For me, this sheet mask is just an average in terms of material sheet fabric but formulation wise, I really love it.
Drier skin types like me will adore this sheet mask because it provides deep hydration and nourishment which also heaps build the strength of skin barriers with ingredients like Probiotics, Ceramides and Squalane. While ingredients like Urea and Hyaluronic Acid to help boost hydration and smooth the surface of the skin.
I cannot say that this sheet mask fit perfectly for my face sculpture, the edge is quite large but it’s fine with me since I can also cover my neck area a bit. Unfortunately, the eyes and mouth hole are too small for me.
The essence consistency is so creamy like yogurt and a bit messy when applying it. After 20 minutes, I was surprised that the essence sinks very well into skin. My skin feels cool and plumped. It takes a while for the essence to really and fully absorbs, but when it does my skin feels super smooth, soft and very moisturized without feeling any sticky feeling. The leftover essence I used it to apply all over my body and neck too.
This mask is great for anyone looking to target dryness, dehydration, texture or red, irritated skin.
This skin treatment is great for anyone dealing with red, irritated skin, dry, dull skin or anyone looking for targeted skin concerns such as strengthen skin barrier and improve skin texture and tone. So far it doesn’t irritate my skin and can be used as prepping skin before makeup.
