My first impression on this Brightening & Hydrating Facial serum (BHS) is that I thought it was an oil-based serum since it comes in the dropper bottle. But it turns out to be more like an essence watery-like texture. It’s runny and at the same time, feels moisture when applied.

How to use /
At morning and night after cleansing and toning but before a moisturizer, apply an appropriate amount (recommend of 2-3 drops of ZarZou Serum) and spread it evenly onto the face.
My Thoughts /
First of all, BLACK is one of my favourit colour hahaha. So this GMK has already won a part of my heart for its first appearance. But there is more than meets the eye. Am I right? So let’s read what I have to say about this serum.
To be honest, this serum is very lightweight and runny as soon as I pull out the dropper pipette from its bottle. But when it touches my skin, it felt moist like there’s an oil-based ingredients in this serum formulation. But unfortunately, there isn’t. This BHS ingredients list is minimal with just 15 ingredients in total with pH level of 5.5. Since the optimal pH value of skin on most of our face and body lies between 4.7 and 5.75, therefore BHS helps balance our skin pH level.
I used this BHS during morning and mid-day routine because I found it’s very light when applying during hot weather. I prefer to apply BHS by patting it on my whole face and neck while soothing it out. I must say it absorbs really fast without leaving any greasy or sticky feeling. My skin feels soft and smooth after application due to 2% of Hyaluronic Acid content in it.
After using for three weeks, I noticed that my skin appearance looks brighter and radiant. I also noticed it has even out my skin tone and lighten a bit of my hormonal acne scar but not entirely. Need to use consistently to see full improvement.
But when using BHS, I need to follow with a cream-type moisturizer or essence-type sunscreen to gives extra moisture feeling on my skin since my skin is prone to dehydrate or dry.
Overall, this BHS does not irritate my skin or caused any bad reaction, probably due to its balanced pH level properties. I guess oilier skin type with acne scars would love this BHS due to its texture and how it helps to lighten acne scars.
Repairing & Soothing Serum (RSS) 30ml

How to use /
Apply 2-3 pumps of this serum onto palm to the cleansed face before applying moisturiser. It can also be used as a spot treatment. For maximum results, use in conjunction with Brightening & Hydrating Facial Serum (BHS) before applying this serum.
My Final Thought For Both RSS and BHS /
To be honest, this combo of RSS and BHS gives maximum results to my skin when used together. BHS is more light in consistency than RSS; therefore it is recommended to use BHS first then RSS.
Since acne is not much of an issue for me, but yesss I do experience one or two new hormonal acne which will appear before my menstrual cycle. This combo helps in controlling my hormonal acne growth from worsening, and at the same time reduce the appearance of dark scars caused by acne.
As for RSS, I apply it during morning routine. After finished a bottle, I noticed my skin feels a bit dry when applied for my entire face frequently (morning and mid-day after solat). This is due to Witch Hazel ingredient, which acts as an astringent to shrink or reduce pores size and contain one of antioxidant chemical called tannins. When applied to skin, tannins have a constricting and drying effect. So I feel more comfortable applying once a day or using it as acne ointment since it can gradually lessen my hormonal acne’s redness with consistent application. Besides that, RSS contain Centella Asiatica extract, which can soothe compromised skin and promote wound healing.
Both RSS and BHS serums have the significance of pH balance in formulating that work effectively on skin and maintain healthy, radiant, youthful skin. When using both RSS and BHS together, it leaves matte finishing. Therefore, I will complete my skincare routine with additional emulsion follow by light cream moisturizer and essence-type sunscreen to give that dewy, radiant and luminous finishing.
Overall, based on my skin experience, this combo would do great for those with combination and oily skin type with skin concerns of acne scars, accessive oil production, uneven skin tone or hyperpigmentation.
But remember to do a patch test before starting using these serums. Know which ingredients might give a bad reaction to skin. Our skin is unique, what works for me might not works for you. YMMV.
